My car is the 1906 Cadillac Model K. it is fun, light and simple to drive. My husband has long legs and more strength to stop the heavier cars with mechanical brakes and those seats are further back.

Congratulations! Great to meet you. I too am blessed to be part of a team - wife included of course, who are in love also with all things on wheels. She is an absolute MG nut and I am a brass Model T guy. Along with our collections of early automobilia, we enjoy working on and using our vehicles. Susan usually has grease under her fingernails on weekends and has a special relationship (with enthusiastic approval) with Joseph Lucas! The website is my daily lunch-break and I've steered so many others your direction. Years in Scotland with our 1935 Morris Eight thankfully exposed us to motoring across the pond. A hearty WELCOME from your USA Pre-War motorheads

I have the privilege to be blessed with a wife, two daughters and two sons who all share my passion for classic cars. We participate every year in our favourite rally in Alessandria, Italy, "le veterane sulle strade dei vini". It is great fun and the highlight of our oldtimer season.
My current project is the rebuilding of a 1923 Ansaldo 4CS, which I bought as a rolling chassis on a scrap yard in Italy.
By the way: Bertha Benz along with her two young suns did probably the first car trip ever in 1888 from Mannheim to Pforzheim to visit the grand mother.
Welcome on board, Mrs Prewar Car

I have enjoyed Pre-war car for a long time.Thank you.
Would it be possible to create a list of funny things heard at various shows.
Mine would be at an antique car show in Tarpon springs Florida around 1975.
I was looking at an early Morgan with a J.A.P. engine. An elderly man and his wife saw it and Said " I will be damned-We beat the hell out of them and now they are building cars"

Well this is refreshing!
In Victoria AU there was a recent celebration of an event of an early motor contest in 1905 which included a single lady who completed the event - Mrs Florence Thomson. Details can be found at:

Oh well done. Joris has retired?
I am lucky to be supported by Jessica, who cut her teeth driving first a 1924 Trojan Utility (pneumatic beaded edge tyred version) then went onto better things with trialling in a 30-98 Vauxhall (without me!)

Well done everyone.

I am sure anyone with a love and enjoyment for our interesting old machinery, including women, are welcomed to the group. For the ladies with husbands who are car enthusiasts this old saying should be appreciated,'A man without a hobby is a man looking for trouble'.

Dear Mrs PreWarCar - welcome to the workshop in cyberspace.
The 'Chummy Ladies' are currently on tour, but I shall enjoy encouraging them to write after they put their little Austin 7s back in the garage.

Robin.

Our old car club here in France is much the better for including wives and girls friends in all the activities. So much so, the club President is a woman, the vice President is also a women and they do an excellent job. We have 50 club members and our club outings are always a great family event. And so much the better for it.

You are more than welcome to the so called man's world of old cars Mrs PreWarCar, the more the merrier.
