In pictures - the 10th Beforty rally, for youngsters with PreWarCars
Put a couple of French, Dutch, British and Belgian people, born after 1979, in cars built before 1940. Give them some fantastic roads in Northern France, give them good food and lots and lots of drinks (after driving) and you know you have the perfect weekend!
This was a little recap of the 10th Beforty rally, which was perfectly organized by the French team, sponsored by the Club Bugatti France. It is great to see that this club can see the necessity of getting young people enthusiastic about old cars and that they really took action by sponsoring the event.
There were 18 different brands, mainly Bugatti but it really didn't matter which car you had. It was about pleasure and having fun. The location was Le Touquet-plage-Paris, with its wonderful surroundings. About 400 km's were driven during the 2,5 days by the boys and girls (yes, many lady drivers)! One lady showed us how to start a Bugatti T37.
The PreWarCar.com team was present as well with our 1928 Alvis FWD and had a fantastic time. Thank you French team, for the organization and thank you for showing us some fantastic spots. We enjoyed the sun and some nice beers! Overall a fantastic weekend!
Next year, the Beforty rally will be organized in the North of The Netherlands. If you would like to have a fantastic weekend and you are under 40 years old, please send an email to [email protected] and we will forward it to the 20-year old organizer for 2020.

They were not arrested but they got a fine. This happened during the International Bugatti Rally in 2012.

I have a technical question:
The next event is organised at the North of the Netherlands. I read that during a past International Bugatti Rally in the Netherlands some people were arrested by the local police as their car _ a Bugatti 37 or 35 _ had no wings. Does it means that Bugatti 37 & 35 will only be able to go if they have wings ? I think it would be better if such type of surprises could be avoided to participants with cars which have no wings...

That is new to me. We have never had any problems with that ourselves and there are a lot of cars without fenders. So I don’t think it will be a problem. Are you sure that was the reason of their arrest?

The car did not only have no fenders, but also no lights, no licenseplate etc.
So I don’t think you have to be afraid.
