Check the Nick Alexander Collection of Woodies that will be auctioned by RM. Now look again, not one of them is the same as over the years Nick Alexander succeeded in collecting every type of Ford and Mercury wood-bodied station wagon with a flathead engine. He has some fifty examples, all different, some restored to show-quality condition, others totally original. Nick Alexander is a purist who prefers to present the cars as they would have looked when they came out of the factory; he resists aftermarket accessories, reasoning that the beauty of original wood needs no additional ornamentation. We totally agree, just look at these two examples, a 1936 Ford and a 1942 Mercury. But the post-war models look great too!
