Identify engine
Letter to the editor
Dear Editors,
I would like to ask some help to identify a rare engine. I think maybe it is an unsual Premier from 1926, because I found a photo about a similar engine. Unfortunatelly the photo was very bad quality and raw. It could be any else type.

Pal Matastik, celá léta jsem se zabýval značkou Premier Eger. Měl jsem celkem 8 motocyklů z období 1924-31. Jedním byl i závodní speciál typ SSR se čtyřmi ventily v hlavě (a lá Rudge , ale ne jako Python, který Premier taky stavěl jako licenční). Tohle byl celý motocykl postavený speciálně pro závodníka a prodejce v Praze - Aloise Krause. Motocykl je dosud zachovalý v původním stavu, jak jej používal následně závodník Srp. Tvůj motor je pravděpodobně opravdu Premier, jak se sám domníváš. Továrna stavěla závodní motocykly individuálně , které nevycházely ze sériových motocyklů. Jsou na tvém motoru konstrukční prvky, které naznačují rukopis Premieru.(Úchyty na motorovém bloku, kulatá příruba válce uchycená dvěma třmeny, tvar žebrování válce). Na druhé zveřejněné fotografii je za jezdcem Weinerem v pozadí Kapitán Kučka - prozrazuje ho typický nos, který mimo Premieru, závodil zároveň na Brough Superior SS100 z roku 1925.

This was an entire motorcycle built specifically for a racer and dealer in Prague - Alois Kraus. The motorcycle is still preserved in its original condition as used by the racer Srp afterwards. Your engine is probably really a Premier, as you yourself believe. The factory built racing motorcycles individually , which were not based on production motorcycles. There are design features on your engine that suggest Premier's handwriting. In the second published photo, Captain Kučka is in the background behind rider Weiner - betrayed by his typical nose, who, outside of Premiere, also raced a 1925 Brough Superior SS100.

this indeed looks like Premier engine..... Possibly smaller than 500ccm? Where is it located?
