One stop shopping for a 1913 Alfonso and a 1913 Nazarro

Some makes are frequently seen on the auction circuit, others seldom or never. A Hispano-Suiza isn't really a rare vehicle, as we have currently six advertised on PreWarCar. But a 1913 Alphonso XIII Model T15 is a whole different matter. This one was built in the Paris factory and shipped to Australia in 1914. However, due to the outbreak of World War I, it was off loaded in Aden and kept in storage there until the end of the war. Rumor has it the Hispano was then used by the Fire Brigade in Victoria. After the Second World War it was restored to its present condition and will now be auctioned on 26 October by Theodore Bruce Auctions at the Melbourne Motorclassica.

In the same auction and even rarer is the 1913 Nazzaro Tipo 2. In 1912 racing driver Felice Nazzaro started manufacturing cars under his own name in Turin. Four years later the company folded after having made 230 passenger cars and 50 trucks. Yet today only three Nazzaro's remain, one of them this tourer. It could be this was an original racing car, but known fact is that it was converted to an ambulance during the Great War. Both the Hispano and the Nazzaro are no giveaways,  perhaps more suitable for your editor's is the 1926 Salmson 6AL fitted with an original Australian body. And even post-war we saw a real gem, a 1947 Holden Prototype, although in our opinion that one should stay in Australia. And there's much more. Check out the catalogue, it's worth drooling over!

That Holden has echoes of the same period Humber Snipes (which in turn we heavily influenced by post-war American styling)
