Help us solve the wedding car mystery!

“Brushing the dust off our wedding photographs album set me wondering what had become of my 1929 Morris Oxford. Along with our 1931 Austin 16/6 (which I still own) the Morris was driven across the Pennines from Harrogate to Wallasey where it was the bridal car. It had proved to be a superb car and I used it for a number of car events in the north of England during the latter half of the 1970s. On the 11th August 1979 was the big day and "Mabel", as she was known fondly, behaved impeccably. A harsh decision had to be made, however, when cash was required to buy a house. The Morris was put into Sotheby's sale at Donnington on 19th April 1980 and I never saw her again. In fact, nobody seems to know of her whereabouts. Even the immaculate records kept by the Bullnose Morris Club carry no information. Is there someone who can throw some light on the mystery? The Morris was registered RT 5593, had a chassis number 310570 and was powered by engine number 334472. As our Ruby wedding anniversary approaches it would be satisfying to know what came of "Mabel" and learn where she now resides. Is there a PreWarCar.com enthusiast who can give some answers?”

This lovely message came from John Campbell. We would love to help him gain information on "Mabel" – a 1929 Morris Oxford. Wouldn`t it be wonderful to find her before the Ruby wedding anniversary? That is only possible with your help! Is there a PreWarCar.com enthusiast who can tell us more about RT 5593?

Please comment below. Your help would be very much appreciated!
