A Camberly Mystery?

Peter Harper sends this most interesting shot of a motorcar. He is trying to find out what vehicle is in this picture and an approximate date of manufacture. The picture was taken in Camberley, England and from other photos in the same box would appear to be early 1900's.  It was thought to be owned by the local car engineer but that is all we know.

The car looks familiar with the rounded cowl and low positioned radiator piping. A crude steering set up (pivot?) and probably horizontal one cylinder engine. We are curious to what you have to tell about this early motorcar.

I knew I'd seen something similar! There used to be an 1899 / 1900 Marshall in Potter's Garage, Kirkby Stephen Cumbria UK about 20miles from where I live. Registration number was EC 2. It was sold (by Bonhams if I remember right)in 2008 when the collection was broken up.

What we see is a 1900 Marshall, one of several British makes of Benz lookalikes around the turn of the century. The undefined thing at the front is an extra cooling device. The dogcart bodywork was popular at the time as short-chassis four-seater.
