Have you ever heard of the International Day of Friendship?

Joyce Hall, the founder of Hallmark cards was the first one to promote Friendship Day. She did this in 1919 with the intention to let people celebrate their friendship by sending each other cards. A wonderful way to popularize her company.

Later in 2011, the International Day of Friendship was proclaimed by the United Nations (UN). This with the idea that friendship between people, countries, cultures and individual can inspire peace efforts and built bridges between communities. Each year on the 30th of June the UN encourages governments, organizations, and community groups to hold events, activities and initiates that promote solidarity, mutual understanding and reconciliation.

The people in the photograph pose in front of the autobus. They seem to be on holiday or an outing. Multiple busses are parked on the side of the street. Maybe they are part of a group. Where do they come from and where are they going? We know the photograph is taken on the 7th of August 1925 probably somewhere in Belgium or in France.

Please comment below if you can tell us more about the group friends or the busses in the photograph.

The cobbles on the street suggest France or Belgium. Unfortunately, the registration on the second vehicle is not legible.

There is a car driving away from the camera on the right hand side of the road which also is in line with the above and the curved sign above the square sign on the building "right foreground" clearly says "TABAC".

Looks like a holiday outing to me.
