Wicked Hannomag racer. Upd. : Entschuldigung: Hanomag !!
Siegfried Otto Hepp was kind enough to send some photos of Hanomag sports cars with 'Peddigrohr' bodies. To be honest, first we thought this was a coachbuilder until we found out...! We understand that Siegfried built two replicas of the Hanomag 2/10 with the help of his friends, Mr. Butenuth and Mr. Höpfner.
"There was a time when these cars were competed in two classes at the Klausenrennen: 1. Sport with Wings and 2. Racing without. They drove there over the road and back. We did build them up for the first Historic Klausenrace, and took part at the Nurbürgring and Montlhéry."
Well we are looking forward to see the full team at next years Vintage Montlhéry. It would be great if Mr. Peddigrohr could make it as well...

Please write "HANOMAG" (1 n, not 2)! But the German town is written Hannover (double n). And even the companies full name is "Hannoversche Maschinenbau Aktien Gesellschaft" but her abraviation "HANOMAG". Crazy Germans!

I wonder if the colleague, Herr Butenuth was a relative/predecessor of Hans-Otto Butenuth (1930-1997) who did astounding things on BMW road bikes in the IOM TT in the 1960's and was still racing, though being treated for cancer, at the age of 67! There must surely be a connection, even if it is only an addiction to the bizarre, between racing wicker bodied cars and horizontally opposed motorcycles.

Fabulous vehicle !
Here in Thailand the "Rattan" vine, from which these canework baskets are made, grows in abundance here. and there is a great demand for domestic 'Wicker' furniture both here and abroad. there is such a 'Craft Factory' not 2Km from where I am sitting now.
I think the term Wicker is very apt, for the Vine in it's natural state, is covered in 'Thousands' of Wicked spines which all have to be removed before any such canework can begin !
I shall have to see if they can make me one !
