Hang on, nearly there!

Last month’s London to Brighton Veteran Car Run was held in what some described as the worst weather conditions in living memory. This certainly set the scene for the Photographic Competition as many entries tried to capture the appalling conditions. This year's overall winner is John Fowler from West Hallam in Derbyshire whose image, entitled ‘Hang on, nearly there!’, caught the eye of the judges. The picture is of Mr. John Kennedy’s 1903 Gladiator just arriving in Madeira Drive, Brighton. There was also a prize for ‘The Young Photographer of the Year’ which was won by 11-year-old Esther Bara from Lavilletertre in France, for her shot entitled Murielle and Norman. All of the winning images, as well as a selection of the other entries, can be viewed in a special gallery on the website of the LBVCR.
