2019 Resolutions: enjoying the Italian sun in a pre-war car!

Touring your classic car in Italy sounds like the perfect holiday for most of us. The Mille MIglia is famous and always overbooked, most will know the Via Flaminia or what to think about the Carovana Romantica that we have reviewed earlier. But now our attention was drawn to the rally with the interesting name Transappenninica.

One of our friends participated in this rally before and was very enthusiastic about it. The atmosphere, fantastic roads and the cultural visits were the reason for the success. And success it is indeed, as we found out when we looked at their website: this year's edition (from 8 to 12 May 2019) will be the 32nd edition. Pretty impressive.

The event is open for pre-1960 cars and as it seems, most cars were PreWar, which we can only encourage. We noticed a wide variety of cars like RR, Bentley, Hotchkiss, Model A Ford and of course Alfa Romeo and Lancia (what else would you expect in Italy).
The event starts on Tuesday, May 7 with a reception but the driving starts the day after in Rimini. There will be 3 days of driving in a very beautiful area before returning in Remini on Saturday.

The program of the rally looks very attractive and seeing the photos has definitely got our interest to put some air in the tires, fuel up and join the other enthusiastics in the sun! Doesn’t that sound like a good intention for 2019?!
