Girls, girls, girls!

How about this one, wouldn't you love to have your wagon loaded with lots of girls? They are from the Dutch province Zeeland and wearing the traditional costumes, probably going away for a day of leisure. Nevertheless, it's not the girls that attracted our attention. No, of course it's the automobile. Look at those built-in sidelights, we therefore suspect it's a German made Dux from 1922-1926 vintage. However, we are not sure of the model as during the 1920s there were two, the Model S and the almost similar, but much more expensive Model R. Do we have a Dux expert among our readers? If so, please help us out here!

Not a Dux, but 'only' a Benz. This type of sidelights were introduced at the Brussels Show of 1914 and were not make-related. They were riveted to the mudguards. The Dux clearly had mudguard lights, which were especially designed for this make. Other differences are to be found in the body, where the Dux has the high bonnet line of the twenties, and the Benz still the slighty sloping line of the mid-teens. Dating the Benz is another story: probably the car was made somewhere between 1914 and 1918, but I hope there are real experts who can be more specific.
