Girl and Grin and Crosby

This past Tuesday L’Art et L’Automobile started a new online auction that will last until June 22nd. As always there’s lots of good stuff on offer, but we were quite intrigued by this watercolor of a young lady, especially the thrilled look on her face while -supposedly- driving through snowy New York’s Central Park. Called "The Motor Girl", the painting was made in 1908 by S. Crosby, an artist we never heard of before, but he was no relation of F. Gordon Crosby as far as we could establish.
