This year’s route of the Mille Miglia, held this weekend, went through some of the most beautiful cities and regions in Italy. Just like last year it included the mountain roads of the Terminillo on the way to Rome with on the way back some new trials in Tuscany. One of the favorites was Luciano Viaro who had won the 2007 and 2009 edition. In the end he and teammate Mark Gessler in their Alfa Romeo 6C 1500 Gran Sport came second. Winner -for the 10th time!- was Cané Giuliano who with his wife Lucia Galliani, drove their 1939 BMW 328 Mille Miglia Coupe to the finish in Brescia. Apart from the Mille Miglia Cup, on which all past editions of the Mille Miglia are inscribed, they were also presented the silver UBI Banco di Brescia Trophy for the highest ranking car.

I will always love the great roadraces like the Mille Miglia and Targa Floria. In winter I always look at some old VHS tapes on which the old versions of these adventures are held...in black and white ofcourse. By the way when is the Pan Americana to be held this year?
