Let's start the week with a funny but mysterious vehicle. We came across this black and white photograph on the worldwide web. It is an experimental project by Citroën. We think the photo of this taxi is taken sometime around 1925. But other than that we have no idea whatsoever.
Can you tell us more about this vehicle? Click here.
Now that the Mini has entered its 60th year, the motoring press is awash with praise for how it innovated front-wheel drive in mass-production. Perhaps the Mini was responsible for front-wheel drive becoming the norm, but it’s worth remembering the real innovator of mass-produced British front-wheel drive, the BSA three-wheeler, is now celebrating its 90th anniversary.
Last year Mr PreWarCar Laurens Klein and Jos van Genugten from the PreWarWorkshop participated in the Paris – Amsterdam Rally. They did this in an 1899 Amedee Bollée – which was hard work. Three very long days of approximately 300 kilometres driving a day… Do you remember? Otherwise, let us refresh your memory… This is a short video of their arrival the first day in Dinant in Belgium (after a 19-hour run).
This year we did not participate ourselves but we would like to show you pictures of this years event.
We are very sorry to inform you that Bas de Voogd passed away. From day one of PreWarCar.com Bas became a very dedicated reader of our articles and wrote several himself.
Interested in automobiles from his very youth, Bas has owned and restored many vehicles, but his interest was especially Ford’s Model T and the MG VA, both automobiles of which he possessed a huge knowledge.
Rover, Packard, Sunbeam, Riley, Alvis, Morgan, Crossley, Vauxhall, Stanley and Maudslay, Brightwells has it all. And of course, do not forget the selection Austin's! No Brightwells auction with at least one Austin! Today we show you a small but fine selection of PreWarCars that will be auctioned in the upcoming Leominster Classic & Vintage Cars and Motorcycles sale on Wednesday the 10th of July.
