Michael Patris from California writes that his neighbour is a fan of his antique cars and came up with a photo of his father in a brass touring car. The photo was taken in Dublin, Ireland and his father, mr. Ellis, is in the front passenger seat. "Perhaps someone with records in Ireland can look up the old license plate number (R?-990) and also determine year, make and model of this grand touring? To my eyes, it appears there is only one headlight and the other side is a siren. Perhaps this is a fire or police chief car? Apparently Mr. Ellis did not own the car, but worked for Shell oil and was just having a great romp in the beautiful countryside. Any help would be appreciated."
Editor: like many times, the radiator shape should put us up the right track. The car itself is not very large and the driver plus five passengers seem like a burden too much for the rear springs. Probably this is only for the photo. The first bump would cause big problems we think.
Update by Mark Dawber: That car is a Humber from about 1908. Not sure of the size but maybe 15 hp?
