The 2022 Summer Veteran Car Run ― in pictures

The London to Brighton Veteran Car Run is traditionally held on the first Sunday in November, but as most of us know, the weather can be a real challenge then. Therefore, this year the Royal Automobile Club (organiser of the LBVCR) has come up with a new event: the Summer Veteran Car Run.

The Royal Automobile Club Summer Veteran Car Run

The first edition took place last week around the Club’s stately Woodcote Park clubhouse near Epsom in Surrey. The event has a different approach to the November Run with a maximum number of 50 veteran cars. As we can see from the photos, it was a sunny and very enjoyable day of driving in the countryside. A good warm-up for the November Run.

Registration for the Veteran Car Run 2022 is still open and we hope to see you in both London and Brighton.

I just wish I could be there. My 1900 Gasmobile would put on a good show too. Summer, November, any time is a good time to showcase the pioneer cars!

I like the idea of a summer run although the purists will stick to November.
It's a shame that several of these cars had lost their original registrations, some settling for 'reversed' registrations (numbers first) which didn't start until 1959 (ish).
