Cry for help
Letter to the editor
Dear Prewarcar readers,
the following little story is a cry for help and I dearly hope someone will answer my call!
In december 2014 I bought a nice and original Amilcar CGS in France (see pictures). With the car came the original french Carte Grise giving the chassis number of the car as 16427 but unfortunately there was no chassis plate on the car.
Now a few days ago I was offered a small collection of Amilcar parts from someone who turned out to have been the owner of my CGS about 35 years ago. Within the stack of parts offered there was the original chassis plate bearing number 16427 which he, when selling the car, had kept as a souvenir!
I think you can imagine my exitement but as I had got the offer by normal post and although I contacted the seller at once I was too late, someone else was faster than me and got all the parts, the chassis plate of my CGS included.
Of course, a chassis plate is not an essential thing on an Amilcar - there are replicas to be had - but I would of course love to get the original plate to reunite it with the car it originally belonged to!
So if the one who bought those Amilcar parts from a certain Monsieur Norbert Dabe would read this and would be ready to sell me that chassis plate of my CGS and therefor would get in touch with me I'd be more than happy!
