Concours Winner. (Update II: 880 x 120 tyres )

Last weekend Ian Murray left home very-very early (he will never use a trailer!)  to arrive in time for the Scottish Transport Extravaganza at Glamis Castle, Angus, Perthshire.  His car is  a highly reliable, 1914 Renault ED fully transformale Coupe Chauffeur by Laclaverie & Gache.  He acquired the high-end Billancourt product about a year and half ago through an ad at PreWarCar.

Ian Murray reports: " It's probably the largest vintage event in Scotland and certainly one of the longest running. It was great to get a 1st in Concourse D'Elegance. Simply because I'm an ardent campaigner for originality and light restoration rather than reproduction and recreation! I'm also a great believer in driving to events. The Renault was the only Edwardian car to make it to the event under it's own power. The photograph attached shows the conditions I arrived in...... only one side light burning in the pouring rain!" (full results, see:  Strathmore Vintage Vehicle Club )

update II:
The only problem with driving everywhere is finding replacement tyres when the old ones go bang! Does anyone know of a supplier of 880 x 120 tyres which would fit the Renault? I've tried all the well known suppliers... perhaps someone might have a spare one hanging up in their garage!

update:

Congratulation Ian, on your 1st Concourse D'Elegance! I am also a big fan of "less is more" when working on classic automobile restorations. Great looking vehicle. What fun and enjoyment you must have driving your 1914 Renault ED.

Warren

Thank you!
