Central NH Model T Club's Tour

Riverfront Tour of the Central NH Model T Club, a report by Warren Henderson: On Sunday May 27th the weather could not have been any better. We left the Bow Truck Stop shortly after 9:00 AM. Traffic was light and even the traffic lights cooperated as we traveled Route 3A to the Meetinghouse at Riverfront in Manchester. Upon arrival we were greeted by Lorna Ford who brought out a Continental Breakfast for all to enjoy while we showed our T’s and visited with the residents. I was told that many of the them had been looking forward to this event for over a week! It turned out to be a very enjoyable way to spend the morning and we were told many interesting stories. One man told how in 1930 he had bought a 1923 Model T Runabout for only $45.00 (actually $15.00 as he went in on the T with two of his friends); another man told me that he had bought his 1926 Tudor from the original owner in 1940. Around eleven o’clock we were invited to use the tables in the courtyard, where we enjoyed our picnic lunches in the cool shade surrounded with flowers and shrubs. After lunch I lead a short drive through the country side to Beech Hill Farm in Hopkinton for ice cream. This part of the tour took us via: Goffstown Road, Straw Road, East Dunbarton Road, Black Brook Road, Stark Hwy, Jewett Road, Route 202, and Currier Road to Beech Hill Farm. There we treated ourselves to ice cream for a day well spent visiting with the Meetinghouse staff and residents. All the tour members commented on how enjoyable as well as rewarding the time spent at the Meetinghouse was. I want to thank each and every participant for making this tour a successful one. I had a great time planning the tour and enjoying everyone’s company.
