Canada's first Chevy dealer?

Now here we have a mystery sign found by David Greenlees. Would this be a very early dealer sign from a company in French Canada? Or is it from a US company with a French owner? Has it anything to do with Chevy cars? Or is any of you aware of other Chevrolet companies? The sign is 30"x15" 1" thick one piece wood board. White back ground with gloss black letters.
