On the 27th of November – in less than a week Brightwells will auction 221 classic car lots. As the days are getting shorter we picked out two bright yellow PreWarCars to brighten up your autumn!
The first PreWarCar is a Talbot 14/45. This charmingly original factory Drop Head Coupe was delivered new in Leicestershire in 1930. The three (!) buff logbooks that come with the car, gives details about every owner from new. These historic files tell us that, during the 1950s the Talbot passed to a new owner every couple of months. As Brightwells mentions in the auction catalogue, this was quite possibly due to petrol rationing. The current owner acquired the car in 1990 and has looked after GH 3599 since. The dickie seat is fully trimmed, windows work as they should, and with the easily folding hood up, you certainly do not have to wait until next spring. This original six-cylinder Talbot is estimated between £10,000 and £15,000. Will your name be added to the logbook with all its owners?
Then there is also this yellow and black Rolls-Royce 25/30 Park Ward Limousine. The factory build record shows that the chassis (GWN 64) left Crewe on 7th January 1937 and was delivered to Park Ward by road. The car was originally sold through Claud Hamilton Ltd in Aberdeen and delivered to Mrs Smith of Pitcaple. Mrs Smith chose a closed Limousine coachwork with glass division, trimmed in dark fawn cloth in the rear - the chauffeur getting hard-wearing leather upholstery upfront. The interior is still in very good condition. Do you see yourself driving this Limousine with the Spirit of Ecstasy mascot? Or do you rather enjoy the comfort and luxury in the back? The Rolls-Royce is estimated between £21,000 and £28,000.
