Assistance in identifying historic vehicles

Have you found a picture of a car or bike in an (old) family album that you would like to know more about? Send it to us! We will be happy to help. Our readers never cease to surprise us. The knowledge we share together in the PreWarCar Community is just incredible.

We received this picture in our mailbox last week, accompanied by the text: “ My godfather found this photo of his mother in a car he can't identify. It was most likely taken in Germany between the wars.”

Who can tell us more about the car this lady is driving?

Could this be an early Tatra? The engine must be aircooled, and if you look at a blow up of the car from the rear, on the right hand Passenger side I believe is the name Tatra..If my history is correct, Tatras were all air cooled. They even (postwar) used aluminum V-8's that were aircooled..Thanks, RLN

Could this car a special version of Stoewer ?
The hubcaps look like Stoewer from the years after 1930.

Which Stoewer car exactly would come into consideration, in your opinion?

Like Tim pointed out, the emblem is that of the "Der Deutsche Automobil Club" - a government organisation under which all German automobile clubs were forced under national-socialist rule. It's visible at the front of this Mercedes-Benz "Stuttgart" that was photographed in Friedberg (north of Frankfurt/Main) at a gas station (the car still exists, by the way).

I think the plaque could also be the Logo of the "Der Deutsche Automobil-Club".
In this case the photo would be after 1933. The color of the car would of course also match a German racing car.

Could be one of the many individual sports versions based on different "Adler" models ("Trumpf", "2 Liter" and "Diplomat").

Could this be a Jaray design for Jawa or Maybach?
