Today it is eight years ago and the memory is not really a headline any more. The rubbles are gone, a new building is rising up to the sky. We don't want to be overdramatic, it's just that these pages are not about forgetting. But about remembering things & facts that we like to keep alive.
Since 2001 the memory of that horrible 11th of September is kept alive as Patriot day. Not many of you may know that once there was a carmaker in Havelock, Nebraska with the plan to make cars named Patriot. As far as we know and learn from The Standard Catalog it didn't make it much further than an idea on paper "made in the West, built for the World". Still according to the same Standard Catalog, one prototype may have been made, but for sure trucks under this name were 'built for the world' untill 1926. Alas, let's start a collection of Patriot snippets, photos, maybe a brochure, a little advert, just about anything. We will Ppage. As a monument against oblivion. Contact Us.
We found that at least one 1918 truck survived, see NebraskaHistory.org.
UPDATE II: Stuart Penketh found another small group of Patriot / Republic truck fans at AACA.
UPDATE from the collection of Raul Valkila in Finland, this Patriot Advert from the Hebb Motors Company.
