The Vintage Revival Association will once again present some unusual cars at Salon Rétromobile. As we mentioned last week, the VRA is rather fond of such crazy or eccentric vehicles.
The quiz we held was an interesting one. The first photo was easy for those who check the adverts on PreWarCar.com on a daily basis. It was indeed the 1924 Scott Sociable from Yesterdays Motorcycles, which is for sale on this website but will also be on public display in Paris.
Besides that, the Association will have a make on its stand which may, at first, sound like bad news: Corona. Happily, this time it's nothing more sinister than a motorcycle by a small German manufacturer. It's in a wonderful patinated condition so we're sure it could tell many stories, if only it could talk.
The third photo might have made you curious. What we see is a 1908 Truffault with an 8/9hp Aster engine and some very interesting wheels. Besides them, it has many patents from M. Truffault, such as the ingenious transmission system which has a gear-change by displacement of the rear axle and by means of a multiplier drive and, secondly, two belts which function as a clutch, while also replacing the differential on the rear axle, thereby reducing the weight... Yes, we can see why the Truffault wasn't a great sales success.
The fourth and final photo shows a Peugeot Type 3 from 1892. This beautiful early motorcar is normally on display at the Museo dell’Automobile of Turin and will now be presented in Paris.
We received several good answers and, like the rest of you, we can't wait to see the cars in the metal ourselves, so keep an eye on PreWarCar.com and we will share photos online. The winner, however, can see them in person on stand E060 in Hall Three. This lucky person is has been randomly drawn selected from all the correct answers and can be named as: Jeroen Albada Jelgersma. Please send us an email at [email protected] and we will send you two tickets to Salon Rétromobile.
Salon Rétromobile 2023 will take place between 2nd and 5th February at Expo Porte de Versailles in Paris. The PreWarCar.com stand is location in Hall One, stand no. P072
