Wow ! No less than 13 competitors were right in naming the right make with this rather neglected motorcar: Christian Günzel, Michael Slenger, Moritz, Jiri Schwarz, Gerd Klioba, Joseph Schmitt, Tony Presensen, Lard Göran Lindgren, Frank Sauerwald, Göran Flank, Leon Mitchell, Fedor and jurymember Anders Svenfelt..! So there must have been earlier publications regarding this quite rare make from the Markranstädter Automobil Fabrik located in - surprise - Marckranstädt, Sachsen, Germany. We receive a massive amount of interesting information regarding M.A.F. and more specific regarding the car as shown above. It seems the car is known from the Dalarna province since new and was on the road until well into the sixties of the last century. It seems vitrually impossible to correctly identify the car, but still Christian Günzel, Michael Schlenger, Joseph Schmitt and Leon Mitchell were all correct in naming the right type : D3 5/12 HP, "Doktor-Wagen for three persons. In the end we decided that the answer by Michael Schlenger was most complete and correct. Congratulations Michael, please send us your mail address and shirt size. We will send you the PreWarCar T-shirt. Need another challenge this weekend? Then check today's post-war Puzzle!

These photos also have a close-up of the car badge, on the front of the "fake radiator". Unless I am mis-reading the badge, it gives two numbers that help to identify the model of the car: the "tax horse-power" (Steuer-PS) of 4.7 and the "actual horse-power" 10PS.
According to https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tax_horsepower#Germany , the German tax horse-power system was introduced in 1906, and for a four-stroke car was 1 Steuer PS for every 261.8cc of displacement. As I noted in my answer, 66 x 90 gives 1232cc (not the figure usually quoted), and so for this car the Steuer PS is 1232 divided by 261.8 = 4.7 as indicated on the badge.
If these photos are of the Quiz car, I'm sticking with my identification of the car as a 4.7/10 (or maybe a 5/10) rather than 5/12.
Cheers
Leon Mitchell
