A strange object in the cylinder

Dear readers of PreWarCar magazine

Today we have a question:

Has anyone ever had a strange object in the cylinder of his car? Someone sent us these pictures and told us about a locking screw, which has caused considerable damage. This screw was not installed on his vehicle and also in his workshop this is not used.

It is also unlikely that she could come through the air filter while driving as this is completely closed of course.

The car has driven 100 km’s before it was put aside to let it cool down with the bonnet open. Soon after they set off, they quickly heard strange noises and found this.

Perhaps someone else had similar problems or have heard of this. But we are afraid someone tried to sabotage this person...

Pity we were not told what model of car this was, but I would agree, a carburettor component seems most likely, I cannot think where this could have come from in an air cleaner? Nor can I see how someone could have placed it there, even if they had time to open the bonnet, I cannot believe they would have time to remove the air cleaner unmolested?? Assuming it has an air cleaner of course, if not .........!

Also these could have been screwed-in plugs for oilducts in the crankshaft (plugged after drilling).

This type of screws are used to hold throttle butterfly valves, venturis, jets or other carburetor parts in place.

If you are sure the airfilter is OK and the part is not of the car, you have answered your own question: it can only be put there.

But I would take the carburetor apart and inspect it well.
