A new series of Amilcar radiators

Anybody who ever tried to restore or remake an Amilcar radiator shell will know how complex this simple shape is and how hard to reproduce. Ask Aussie perfectionist Bruce Smeaton who spent several hundreds of hours on making one and yes it came out superbe, but still. Martin Dijkhof is a high end panel beater and specialiasing in small series high-end reproduction parts. The Amilcar radiator shells Martin is making are formed from thin brass making use of a very well shaped 200 pound steel mould which allows for individual adjustments.  The basic form will be finalised by hand.  Price - not unimportant(!) - will greatly depend of the number of interested Amilcarists and the kind of finish you have in mind. No finish - Polished only-  or Nickeled to perfection.
Now if you want to show your interest send an e-mail to Martin Dijkhof.

I still remember the repair on my Amilcar CGSS radiator shell back in the late 90's. Cost of the repair was 1300 and another 1700 for a new layer of nickel; all in dutch guilders! The result was perfect, mainly because I found someone who was a wizzard with very thin copper. He worked for months on this 1927 item with a lot of patience. A new one is ofcourse the better choice, on the other hand is repair of the old one -with all the history- maybe more tastful and anyway: patina is hard to reproduce.
