A lady on a wooden raft in Africa

This picture was sent in by Clive Jones from Cape Town. The photograph comes from his wife`s collection of family photos which were taken in Zambia and Zimbabwe. It is unknown who the lady in the car on the wooden raft is. We also don't know the exact location, with whom this lady is travelling and where they are going. There is one thing we think you – our knowledgeable readers – do know.

Can anyone tell Clive what PreWarCar we see here?

The parts to assemble these RHD cars in South Africa most likely came from the large Chrysler of Canada factory in Windsor, Ontario.

Dodge and Plymouth were very alike in 1933.The painted radiator framing and the hub-caps point to Plymouth, but the silhouette of the radiator mascot, even if blur points to the "bucking ram" that Dodge had -33 and 34. Chrysler had an assembly-plant in South Africa and it is well known that assembly-plants of all marks sometimes made cars with very varying model caracteristics, depending on what parts they had in the bin that day so it can also be a Plydge or a Dopl.
