Bugatti Type 13 Project.
I am selling a project to complete a Bugatti Type 13, utilizing a mix of original and new parts. The engine is an original unit from a Type 22; it is one of the earliest 16-valve engines (chassis no. 936, engine no. 556). It was originally supplied in "Sport Torpedo" configuration to Milspe town for the racer Karel Brackesberg, who later also owned a Type 13 (badged as a Bugatti Rabag).
I began building the shorter Type 13 version, aiming for minute accuracy based on the well-known early photograph of Ernest Friderich—featuring small shock absorbers, a short steering box, rear frame bracing, etc.
The engine is complete but currently disassembled. The steering box is an original bronze "short" version. The front axle is the "deep" type not for touring types but racing version T 13, and the steering knuckles are non-braked. The project includes a new set of connecting rods and two camshafts.
It comes with two Bosch ZF4 magnetos and new wheels from Richard’s Bross, featuring the 50-spoke pattern seen in period photographs. The engine is mounted in a newly fabricated frame and is bolted in alignment with the gearbox. The rear axle features a new differential, axle housings, half-shafts, brakes, and a complete 13:45 gear set. new brakes shoos. I have the original trumpets for back axle in poor condition and ithey were changed. The gearbox is new and fully machined. The pedals are for brakeless system on the front axle.
