Extensively restored approx. 20 years ago in Berlin, Germany with very little use since (photographic record available). This W142 sports a powerful 6 cylinder 3. 2 Engine and desirable overdrive. (Rated at 78bhp, top speed near 80mph (130km/ h).
Wearing a beautiful, deep black and cream paintwork, with a complementary black canvas top. Matching tonneau cover. Stunning tan leather upholstery, matching front arm rest. Specification is correct throughout, including mother of pearl dashboard inlay, Original Bosch headlamps, milk glass parking lights, twin spotlights, period traffic signals, chrome wire wheels, rear mirrors and very elegant dash mounted flower vase. The original jack and accessories are stored in a matching leather bag.
The chassis features independent front and rear suspension; with coil springs all around, giving the car impressive road manners and especially comfortable ride. Four-wheel hydraulic brakes provided ample stopping power. The car runs beautifully, remedial work has been carried out on time and with the upmost attention.
Uniquely this 320D stayed in the same family’s possession from new, till late 1950’s. First being delivered new in 1937 Berlin, then taking its owners to Switzerland prior to outbreak of World War 2. Post war the family moved to France with the car. Currently residing in a large private collection. Recently the car was displayed with Mercedes Benz and took Lewis Hamilton on the parade winners lap at the Belgium Grand prix. All German and Belgium papers included.
