New Zealand Stude dude digs for info.

Aaron Ellis-Smith from New Zealand writes: "I have recently found this 1938 Studebaker Coupe, and it is hard finding out information on this car, like how many were made, how many came to NZ, how many are left world wide, etcetera. So if anyone out there that can help me out with any information on the coupe it would be much appreciated."  Come on guys, let's share our knowledge! And Aaron... good luck with the long and winding road restoring y'r Coupe!

While waiting for help Aaron, we suggest you enjoy these Stude songs.

i grew up in TeKuiti in the king Country and in the 1960's there was one there belonging to mechanic emplyed at the local Ford dealers. His was yellow with louvres and bike fenders of the front. i thinmk it alsochad a GMC six in it. he then sold it to a Bruce Dunn who was an apprentice at the dealers. Bruce found a new Ford V8 in the spares and installed that in it. This would have been 1970 . I guess it would still be there somewhere.

Don,t know much about Stude,s but i have to comment that the coupe has a very smooth body. I can,t see any swage lines or window reveals or even hood vents. Not even holes for stainless steel decoration strips.

The Studebaker National Museum (www.studebakermuseum.org) in South Bend has access to Export production records. They've assisted me in the past.
