What happened to Al Jolson's 1928 Mercedes? (upd. appearing in 'A night in Casablanca')

Keith Nordquist sends this nice period photo of a Merc spotted in 1953 in Seattle Washington. Keith says this 1928 Mercedes Benz  convertible sedan was formerly owned by singer and  film star Al Jolson. Also that the body is by Saoutchik, Paris. We see a lot of similarities if not a full match with the 'concours pimped' 1928 K series convertible sedan photographed by Richard Spiegelman. Anybody who knows today's whereabouts of the car in the picture above?

I am interested in and researching the cars that were once owned Pacific Auto Rentals. And would, therefore wish to contact #6 and any other readers that visited PAR in its day. My primary interest lies in the Isotta-Fraschini owned by Pacific Auto Rentals. Can anybody help me? My phone number is +1 (561) 819-4627

Thanks

This Soutchik bodied k was sold by Fred Thorsen and me in 1953 in Seattle, We bought it from Pacific Auto Rentals in Hollywood. It was very fast but did not handle well. It is now owned by Cuss Cussler in Colorado. The fenders are very clumsy and did not have chrome trim. I could not find a photo of it in the Saoutchik book. No one in LA mentioned Jolson owning it. xxa6x

Anton,, I think you are right . The car in A Night In Casablanca has many similarities to the one pictured;
Whether or not Al Jolson actually owned it could have been a rumor

I believe it's the same car as used in the 1946 movie "A night in Casablanca".

How many Saoutchik bodied Mercedes ?
From research, it is probable that Saoutchik bodied
12 Mercedes 680 model S chassis, and
6 Mercedes model SS chassis.
7 of the the 12 were left hand drive - and all the cars were slightly different in their detailing.
But would AJ have ordered 3 at the same time, and identical ? ?
I can find reference to 5 of these Saoutchik cars that appear to have survived.

Al Jolson Mercedes
Just how many Mercedes did he own ?
I can find statements that in 1928 he bought 3 custom-built Mercedes
I can find 4 claims of MB's being owned by AJ, and they're ALL different !
2 Photos of AJ standing by his car

This one which at least has AJ standing beside the car, has many differences to the one depicted in the article
