RENAULT REAR AXLE circa 1902-1905

This Renault rear axle is interesting and rare,   probably mounted on 40 or 60 HP racing models between 1902 and 1905

Wooden wheels are fitting to the drums by 6 screws, center to center distance between 2 screws is 175 mm.

Spring Leaf width 45mm,  Center to center Leaf springs 970mm, one of the spring support is partially broken.

There is no Hub cap.

For the drive shaft, male square 58x58mm

Crown wheel : straight teeth 16x80

Free balls differential for the lateral

Bearings : HCB PATENT 50x110x27

Brake drum internal diameter : 310 mm,  Brass Brake lining,

Axle shaft, differential side : 32mm square  and wheel side 35 mm.

Driving pinion : mounting on bronze ring with thrust bearing behind the pinion

middle of wheel to middle of wheel distance : 1m35-1m38 

Wheels dimensions : probably 875x105 or 915x105

This old rear axle should be dismantled and completely overhauled
